Knowledge Base - Email subject encoding

"When I send an eMail I recived the subject "=?utf-8?B?U2NobHVzc2FiZW5k=?=". What do I need in my system to fix the problem?"

By default the email subject are binary encoded to show special characters correctly. Normally all email client programs are able to understand this encoding.

Thunderbird does not and display subjects like '?utf-8?B?Tm91dmVhdSB0ZXN0=?='.

You can switch off using binary encoding by changink this value in the sobi redgistry editor :

  • Key:mail_subject_base64
  • Default Value:1
