The website form www.globalsail.info is may be different to the other one because it is not only for profesionals.

Project description

www.globalsail.info's target is to support the fast growing sailer community around the world. This group of people is average more than 50 years old and often not verry familar with computers. And a lot of them are german speaking so we make it first in german.

But they whant to have two things during there journey around the globe: they whant to let the family at home know, where they are and searching for club - members on different places.

If they arrive, for example, in the Fiji islands in the middle of the Pacifik Ocean, it's nice to meet a friend to talk together and swap informatiuons about the new country.

So www.globalsail.info developed a site with a lot of informations about all the stuff around long distance cruising. Incuding a comunity with Comunity Builder.

We spend a lot of time to search a solution for our position report problem. But than we dicide to myjoom.com because of a few reasons.

We ask some competitors of myjoom.com too but the first answer we got was from myjoom.com. And it was also a answer on all questions we ask for. So as we say: you never get a second chance for a first impression! And this feeling we never loose.

The Geocode Factory solution from myjoom.com is easy to handle – not only for setup – more important, in our case, is it easy to understand if you are in first contact with Geocode Factory on a CB Tab! Yust drop your coursor where you are and that's it!

And with the radius search you find easy each boat on the whole globe. Just zoom in with the mouse weel and here we are!

That is what we need!

And if it sounds to easy, in real live we had some problems to understand how it works. But with the support from myjoom.com it was always easy to find the right way. And i never forget the funny e-mail conversation with myjoom.com support team.

In the same map, you can also select a radius, and pick a point on the map to see who is in this radius, and bellow a list of result, with the distance from center (here in Nautical Miles) :

By clicking on the marker, or the result list, you see the bubble with some infos about the boat, crew, ... :

Congratulations on a very original project. This case study shows us that only the imagination can limit our Geocode Factory. We never thought this kind of use of our product. Very impressive, yet a case study which we are proud!
